I am sick of cheap Chinese junk flooding our country. While I wish these were made in the USA, I chose them mainly because they were not made with cheap Chinese stainless steel. I was not disappointed. These shears are well made, sharp and work well. I like that I can cut my fresh herbs directly into my bowl or pot and don’t have to dirty a cutting board. The plastic comb that comes with it works very well to scrape off the herbs stuck on the blade. I rubber band the comb to the handle so I don’t lose it.The only things that could be improved is to make a storage sheath to go with it ( including a place to store the comb) and it would be very helpful to include a tool to dry the insides of the blades- there is no way to dry the inside portion of the blades after you wash them. I am worried about rust ( yes stainless steel CAN rust) but so far I have not seen any sign of rust even in the inside part of the blades that remain wet after washing. And I haven’t found any such drying tool by any other company either. If my scissors start to rust I will update my review…but right now I highly recommend these scissors….they work great!

Love these 5 Blade Herb Scissors!!! I already own a smaller pair of Westmark herb scissors (single blade) for snipping fresh herbs from the plant. They have a feature that strips leaves from the stems, but chopping was still a necessity. When I saw these, I just had to give them a try. Glad I did!! Makes short work of chopping herbs. Have used on fresh dill, thyme, cilantro, chives, basil leaves and even the green part of scallions. Chops neat and clean. The cleaning tool is helpful to dislodge any small pieces that get stuck between blades. Cleaning was relatively easy…swish in hot, soapy water and rinse. Let them air dry. Not sure if these are dishwasher safe, but like my knives, I choose to wash by hand. Was so impressed with this gadget, I went back and bought 2 more to give as gifts to people I know who love to cook.

I have canaries and finches and they like lettuce mixes. Especially spring salads. I have been using a knife to cut them into manageable pieces for the birds but I think the scissors will work much better and give them small pieces, too.

I was surprised by the heft of these, but they are seriously well-made. I like the little comb that comes with it, too, so that one can clear the blades. I wash them immediately after use, but they are stainless steel, and dry them and put them away. They look like, if they are treated well, able to be passed down to generations. And they cut great! π Edit: I’ve got to say, though, after reading other reviews, that I use it for fashioning salads for one, so I’m not sure how they’d do if I had bunches of herbs to cut. I basically use kitchen shears to cut my greens anyway, and I prefer these because they cut more — but in comparison to a chef’s knife, no – they will not replace a chef’s knife for volume of cut material nor of speed. For how I use them (and will keep using them), I just prefer scissors to knives whenever possible, and this fits the bill. I know some people (sadly) were sent scissors from China, not what they ordered. I will edit if necessary, but my search shows me that Westmark tools are mostly made in Germany. I will be researching more….

We enjoy especially using Parsley and Cilantro, but previously labored with all of the cutting / chopping that was involved – it was a labor. A friend recommended this cutter and WOW it has been a near miracle worker for us. It is finely tuned and the multiple (5) interlocking cutter blades slice right through the Parsly, Cilantro and Green Onions without a hitch. Cleans up easily with water spray, plus a custom cleaning brush is included in the set. I wish that I’d found out about this sooner. It’s a true winner !

I bought these to see how they would work for shredding whole leaf tobacco for pipe smoking. The hand crank shredders seem to cut too fine for pipe tobacco if you don’t want a shag cut. I’ve only just tried them on about an ounce of leaf and they worked fine. A little courser than a ribbon cut. Made a course cut that I think would do nicely if you want to press your own crumble cake.

Doesn’t cut clean when I tried cutting green onions / chives. It mangled them more-so than cut them, and became caught up between the blades. Maybe these work good on other things, but for chives, it’s back to using a knife for me.
