I’ve never used a knife sharpener so I was pretty nervous about trying this. I sharpened some of my cheapest, least favorite knives first, and the results were great, so I will continue using this! I am not an expert in knives, so maybe that’s why there are complaints from others saying this isn’t good, but my old paring knives can now slice a tomato easily, so I am happy! (I usually use a serrated knife for tomatoes; I didn’t realize I didn’t need to use a serrated knife for tomatoes. Wow.)

This is a good sharpener and easy to use. I’ve used it for both knives and scissors and all come out extremely sharp.The build quality is a bit questionable though. The adhesive or clips have come off the back, so when you pick up the unit, it now opens and you can see the internals. I don’t think it’s supposed to do this. Additionally, as others have mentioned, when you look inside, you can see the very thin drive belt inside. I haven’t had any issues with the belt yet, but it’s so small that I worry about its future longevity. I’ve been using this product for about a year and it’s still going strong.
