   The carrying box is a great addition to carry this multi piece system. The rods that contain the diamond stones, ceramic, and leather strop appear to be made to higher quality than the one that came with the base which I applaud. If they would include the wedge that goes up under the clamp that prevents up/down float that I’ve purchased and recommend, it would get that last star! As it is, I still highly recommend this system as it’s sooo close to being the best guided manual sharpening system I’ve tried. Best powered system also. Work Sharp is awesome co.

   Based on what i read in the reviews, several folks must have missed the part of the headline that says “does not include sharpening base”. You do have to purchase that seperately. I had used the original base and stones for over a year and loved it so when I discovered this upgrade kit with more grits and strops as well as the serration sharpener, I jumped on it. The case alone made me giddy. I have enough room left over to keep a short flat strop and a couple of small compounds in the case along with the base and stones.I have been able to get wicked, razor, hair shaving edges from using this system and i know this enhanced kit will take it to the next level.

   If you already have the sharpener this is a great addition as it has a spot to store it and your original stones. I really like the leather strap with the ceramic rod for serrated knife. The leather brings the edge to the next level.Edit: the case strap broke a few weeks into using it. It wasn’t sewn in completely. Hopefully they will send me a new case.

   Really like the new sharpening system by Works. It’s well thought out, easy to use, if applied right will provide impressive results. The added stones give you a more refined edge to your existing knives. My only question is why was this not put in the original sharpening system?

   Love this kit. Brought a mirror edge to my great grandfathers every day carry knife. This system makes quick work of even my hardest to sharpen CRKT knife.Buy this kit and swing over to first aid section and buy a small box bandaids and you’ll be set

   I love this knife sharpener. Yes, you have to actually put in the work, but some things should still be done the old fashioned way. The only thing I did “add to it” is that I changed the grommet at the end of the rods. I learned on the kit that if you over extend it, the sharpener will fall off (not a fault of theirs but easy to do) so I changed them to a tighter fit. Overall, amazing product for a perfectly sharp knife or tool

   This put my confidence back into having the ability to have a sharp knife for home and work. I’ve struggled on trying to get kitchen knives along with my pocket knives sharp and usable. With a little time and patience I can finally be happy with the edge I can put on a knife.
