Steeling is important for maintaining the cutting edge of a knife. This one carries the Wüsthof brand name, but is priced considerably lower than some of their other steels. The steel portion measures approximately 9″, and the handle about 4-3/4″.The plastic handle is hard to the touch, but ‘soft’ in that it is easily cut, and will quickly melt if placed on a hot stove or surface. I do not know if it is dishwasher safe. The steel portion (the ‘business end’) worked well on a few different brands of knives I have, and confirmed to me that my old steel might be dull / worn out (?).The package sleeve has some German language on it, but is clearly marked ‘Wüsthof USA’ and ‘Made in China’.Seems to be a good value for the price, and does the job intended.

Works great with my new Wusthof Classic Chefs Knife that my wife bought me for Xmas. If used correctly, should last decades.

So the item is made in China … Automatically people assume cheapo low quality. It does what it’s made for. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer. But so far I’m happy with it.

Super value and works perfectly to get a edge back

This steel is so good that everyone at work keeps trying to steel it

Fácil de usar y no pesa mucho.

Between scheduled sharpening of my kitchen knives this works perfectly to keep a sharp edge. 5-6 swipes on both edges is all it takes.

Does exactly what a steel should do. reasonably priced in my opinion.
