I gave an overall 5 stars because the knife is super sharp, you can feel the durability in it, and using it was a lot of fun. However, if like me, you aren’t accustomed to this style of knife, you may find it a bit clunky and heavy at first. Don’t worry, you will get used to it. I use it for multi-purpose cutting and chopping: dense veggies like carrots, potatoes, etc, and breaking down meats. It is fantastic once you get a feel for the weight, size, and balance. I can’t believe I got a knife of this quality for under $20 on sale. If you want to add a little something different to your tool kit in the kitchen, or fills the role as a great chopper and light duty cleaver, this is the one to get.

For god’s sake, do not listen to some of these reviews. I say this due to the fact that some people do not understand how to take care of the metal these are made out of. They are NOT stainless steel. With saying this if you wash and put them away wet, THEY WILL rust. You must dry them off and oil them before putting away. Second, understand that these are NOT cleavers like the title says. You will not find a knife that chops through bone and keep its blade without spending good money.Now with that being said, I have had a few of these knives for a couple of months now and love them. I use them every day for cutting everything from meat to veggies for dinner and every meal on the weekends. I have yet had to sharpen them or redo the edge because of dents or knicks. They are made from a good heavy solid metal that will put your other knives to shame. The cases they come with do have a loop for you to attach to your belt, which is really handy while camping and not wanting to put it down. Just wipe both sides off and belt it. The oil that I use is avocado oil when oiling and putting it away. That way it’s always ready to use when I pull it out of the sheath. For the price you really can’t go wrong with this company’s knives. I have now ordered a second one that is strictly for camping and more knives for camping and home. So, no matter what kind of meat or veggies you’re cutting up and no matter how thin you need them, these knives would be a great choice.

I had seen reviews featuring a broken blade, warped, etc.My order had none of these issues and after cutting through a variety of foods I can say this thing is a beast. It is heavy and the wide blade can be difficult to get used to, but use this knife for what it was made for and you will be happy.
