Different from other thermometers, you need the app to use it.Cons:- The case should be near the oven, otherwise it won’t work properly- You can’t deep fry, air fry or sous-vide using this thermometer- It does not recommend to dish wash it- If your home has too many walls, your cell phone will disconnect from the thermometerPros:- You don’t need to subscribe to Yummly membership to use the thermometer- I tested in meat, breads, loaves and cakes. It works perfecly.- You have meat options or custom setup to configure the internal temperature you want to reach.- It accepts both Metric system and US system.- The case has magnets on his bottom, so it can be attached to any metal surface.- It has an extra option to notify when you need to flip the meat.I am not sitting near the oven/pan anymore. I just set the doneness and go for other duties while cooking/baking.

Has worked with pork shoulder, steaks, chicken, seafood, and pork loin (so far). Will recommend when to flip the meat. Will try the manual mode for the pork loin (or any round piece) to get an even grill marks.Bonus for us, better monitoring of temp inside a smoker.Regarding the program: Yummly, if you are just using it to cook with the thermometer, just go directly to the device (the right most choice. Then do what you got the thermometer for.

Perfect for the man or chef in your life! Thanks to the Yummly App, in about 10 min this smart thermometer accurately predicts the desired temp of meat and forecasts the finish time in advance so that you can time all the side dishes perfectly. Where has this been all my life?!!!

I was skeptical but this is the real deal. On my problem was the two included batteries were dead on arrival. After replacing them with new batteries the unit connected via Bluetooth.

The way the app is set up, you can use the thermometer to simply monitor the temperature of something. Once the temp has been reached in manual mode it sets off a continuous alarm. If you stop the alarm, it stops monitoring the temperature. So if you want to monitor the temp of the item after the target temp has been reached you have to suffer listening to the constant alarm going off.The dock uses AA batteries instead of having a USB-C port for continuous power. Not environmentally friendly to waste AA batteries and no way to tell when those batteries will run out in the middle of cooking something.Does it measure temp? Yes, but only in the context of reaching a specific temp then turning off due to the limits of the app.Is it worth the price? I plan to get a wired meat thermometer so I can have a continuous display of temp without an alarm continuously going off.

Set up was easy. I’m so impressed with this thermometer. Cooked steaks on the grill, and they were terrific. Told me when to flip, when to take them off and how long to rest. Came out WAY better than I usually manage. Looking forward to trying it with all sorts of things. Slick, easy app and very convenient to be able to do other things while cooking. This was a great present!!
