After a week of use, I can say enthusiastically “I love these!” I wish I’d bought them decades ago (well, assuming they existed then).OK, what I can NOT review is: 1. Longevity (we’ve only been using for a week), and 2. Comparison to similar products (this is the first electric pepper mill I’ve ever owned). What I CAN review:Although they seem to market pairs of electric mills as being for salt and pepper, I consider salt mills somewhat nonsensical. Salt is already ground; just shake it. So I bought the pair for the purpose of having one at the dining table and one next to the stove. We enjoy using the one at the table. With the LED light it really helps see what’s coming out. And it’s such a joy to just press a button and get all the freshly ground pepper you want. No more two-handed fighting with a grinder that doesn’t seem to want to grind, as with our manual ones.Where this is a game changer: in the kitchen. OMG I LOVE THIS THING! I cook quite a bit and nearly everything gets some pepper. I was just keeping a can of preground pepper next to the stove because it was too much hassle to get both hands and fight a manual grinder. Now I just reach with one hand and a simple press of the button delivers what I need in seconds, without much focus or thought. You can keep stirring, or whatever you’re doing, with one hand, and keep your mind on that while you easily pepper your dish as needed. What a joy! Every time I use the grinder it makes me smile. I guess eventually I’ll get over that, but in terms of smile-inducing, this grinder is a big hit.If it doesn’t hold up over time, I’ll try to remember to come back and update this review. But I will say this: if this ZEREAA brand electric grinder were the only option, and they only lasted a few years, I would pay the price to buy a set every time they wore out. At the table, it’s just a convenience, although an excellent one. But at the stove, it’s now a necessity. I can’t believe I fought manual pepper mills or gave up and used pre-ground pepper for years. This is the ONLY way to cook. These are rechargeable, which is a huge plus. If you’re bargain shopping, don’t overlook this. Over a 10 (hopefully) year lifetime, you’ll spend quite a few dollars on batteries for some of the alternative products; this recharges quickly and easily. If you buy a pair and split their locations like we do, if you’re in the middle of cooking or dining and a battery runs low, you can simply go get the other one while you charge. I suspect once I learn how long the charge lasts, I’ll just preemptively recharge monthly, or quarterly, whatever it takes. Also, we got the wood-grained mills. Of course it’s fake; they’re plastic, not wood, but they look nice. My wife was very pleased with the look; she didn’t care for the modern look of some of the alternatives. One last comment: these come with “lids” on the bottom. They fit nice and look nice, but I removed them after a day or two. There is hardly any spillage on the table/counter, and it’s vastly more convenient to just pick one up and push the button, rather than push the button, wonder why nothing’s coming out, go “duh!”, remove the lid, spill the pepper you just ground, then grind where you want it. Just makes no sense to me to keep the lids on. If a few pepper grounds accumulate on the table or counter under it, so what. It’s not as if our table is spotless after a meal, and certainly my kitchen counters aren’t. So I recommend just admiring your lids, then toss them in your junk drawer and never think about them again.Would I buy this again? IN A HEARTBEAT! I’m 5-star happy with them.

I love these and use them every day. The charge last a long time in between. I thought that because it didnβt hold a lot of peppercorns and/or coarse salt in the base that Iβd have to refill them often, but I havenβt had to refill but once since I first got them. I like that the bottom has a cap to keep the excess from spilling out. These have a sleek and modern appearance to them which makes them look aesthetically pleasing atop of my cooking range.Once theyβre empty, I clean them out before refilling. To clean I simply wipe down the exterior with a very lightly soaped up damp cloth then dry with a clean towel and I go over the exterior again with another clean towel sprayed with sanitizer. I remove the cap from the bottom and take a small cleaning brush to brush the excess off then I repeat same process as I did with the exterior only I sanitize the inside with a clean cotton swab dipped in white distilled vinegar and rub it around until saturate all the way around and leave to air dry at least 30 minutes before refilling and putting the cap back on.I highly recommend these grinders.

I bought these to help my wife when she was suffering from bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome. And they worked well for her; their grinding power is strong, they charge quickly and their charge seems to last for months. But there are two things that would keep me from buying these again:1) The side button placement is terrible, because it’s very difficult to pick them up without hitting the button and starting the grinding. I suspect that’s why they added caps to catch those early grindings. It’s kind of a pain, but somewhat endurable. A better button location would be on the top. [Note: we did try a different set that turned on when tipped over, but they were kind of awkward, the grinding action was never consistent (large and small grinds – hard to regulate) and then the salt grinder quit working after just a short time.]2) The plastic on the upper sides, around the curves, is cracking. (see pics)If you can get past those issues, all in all, these are still good grinders but they do have their drawbacks.

I had a couple other brands of this type of shaker. This set is the smallest in size. I like that because my kitchen is small.
