I received my first Zyliss salad spinner as a wedding present 28 years ago. I used it all the time. Somewhere along the way (cannot remember when) I lost it during a move. Or maybe it was broken in the move. I bought several from other brands that never lasted. They either broke or just didn’t do the job. Oxo made one that was almost as good but it used a pump mechanism that you had to push and keep pushing. I hated it. I know I’ve checked Amazon and kitchen stores over the years and could never find one. FINALLY. I just happened to search one day and voila. It’s a little different – the bright green is not my favorite – because my original one had a white lid, white inner basket and same clear outer container. But hey, it works beautifully, as expected. I’d buy it over and over….I highly recommend this product. It will get every drop out of your salad or anything you’ve washed or trying to drain!

What I like: spins like it says, throws water like it says, is easy to use, like it says.What I noticed that was not like it says is that the bowl travels across the counter unless you are holding down on it firmly. No big deal, but I thought the grippers would hold it in place.Also, the stop button gives a high-pitch squeal unless it naturally slows down, then using the stop button works just fine. Little details that would put it over the top in my book as a 5. I do like it though and would buy it again.

Gets greens dry which is most important. However you must hold the lid on while pulling the string mechanism which is a bit tricker than it sounds.

Who came up with this green color? It’s pretty, but exactly matches lettuce or other greens, which makes it hard to clean and get all the little bits out. I got the pump model, which is kind of fun to use, but can be tricky. Sometimes the gear doesn’t quite “catch” and I end up slamming the pump down awkwardly. I just have to go slowly and it’s fine. It doesn’t dry 100%. I don’t load it very full, spin, and then stir it up and spin again.

I love this. It dried the lettuce well. I had another one of this brand many years ago and it did dry the lettuce a little better, however, it’s dry enough for me. I also like that the inside of the cover is relatively flat so there nothing that hangs down into the bowl like some of the competitor brands. You can fill the bowl right up!I definitely wouldn’t want to go back to drying my lettuce leaves with paper towels anymore. I would buy this again. My only complaint is that the bowl could be a little bigger.

My original pull cord broke down and I could not find the same. Found an Oxo push down-a major design failure that should not have been allowed to market. Then I went shopping again and found this product. It is sturdier than my original one, and 100% better than the Oxo push down disappointment.
