I really like parmesan… a lot, I buy it at Costco.I broke our last grater while cooking dinner… and had to grate the parmesan with a boxed grater, which sucked. I ordered this one because it looks like the ones they use at the Olive Garden, I figure if it’s good enough for them it should work for me.What I like: It’s compact, and it doesn’t fall apart if a child turns the handle the wrong way… like my old one. It also is much more efficient than my old grater and more completely uses every piece of cheese that you insert. What I don’t like: Being so efficient at grating cheese, it doesn’t leave much in the way of “slivers” for me to snack on while cooking. Thanks to one of the reviews I read before buying, I’ve been leaving it in the bag with the block of parmesan in my fridge. It is easy to clean but if you’re just grating parmesan I like the convenience of having it “at the ready” in the cheese drawer most of the time.

Very nice grater for hard cheese like Parmesan. The one cutting wheel shreds on the fine side but that’s the way I like my parm. The grater wheel is sharp, does not require a lot of pressure and overall this grater seems to be of good quality after my initial use.

Love this for grating parmesan. No more cut fingers on those metal graters.

My favorite way to add hard cheese to salad or pasta.

Good for hard cheeses only. This type doesn’t work well for soft cheese.

We use a lot of fresh Parmesan in recipes because it tastes so much better than the prepackaged kind. This gadget makes grating the cheese so much easier. We haven’t tried it for other things like chocolate, but I expect it would work great. The handle easily unscrews to remove the grater & clean it. It can be assembled with the handle on the right or the left so left-handed people will find it easy to use. Ease of cleaning is about what you’d expect for a grater, but it’s made easier by the fact it comes apart.
